Can Guinea Pigs Eat Peaches?

Good food for a healthy pet

Food is the most important part which you need to take special care, when you decide to bring home a new little furry friend. Buy carefully selected food, intended for your pet’s diet. Hay is the essential part of their diet, so it must be always provided. It helps them with digestion and keeps their constantly growing teeth short. And no, eating bread won’t cut it.

The base of their diet is commercial dry food, which contains the necessary vitamins and minerals. Since the granules and hay are dry, you should always provide your guinea pig fresh and clean water. It should be changed daily.

Guinea pigs can eat variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, as well. They do not have natural ability to produce vitamin C, so it needs to come thorough the food. Raw green vegetables and some fruits are the best source of vitamin C. Just be careful with your choice.

Juicy peaches for guinea pigs

When it comes to the fruit in particular, it is important to note that all the fruits contain some level of sugar, which can cause serious health issues our little friend. Lots of sweet vegetables, such as carrots, and all the fruits can lead to digestion problems and obesity.
